If you are interested in ethnological boat collections, there are at least two in Japan that may be of interest... one at an "Ocean Cultures Museum" in Okinawa, and one at the National Museum of Ethnology (Minpaku), Osaka, where I work. Both include a variety of boats from Southeast Asia.
I am afraid that a recent earthquake in Osaka (late June 2018) might have shaken up some of the boats in storage at Minpaku, but so far I have not heard of any severe damage done.
