Colocasia (Qolqas) samples needed!!!
Hi everyone,
I am a PhD student working on the history and genetics of taro (Colocasia esculenta) in Africa. I collected some samples in Cameroon, Congo, Kenya, Tanzania, but in order to complete my work I would need some samples of taro in the upper Egypt/Mediterranean/Near East region (Egypt, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan). Is there anyone that would be able to have a look around and see if it is possible to find this plant? It normally grows in wet areas and I would only need some dry leaves, easy to collect and to send.
I can send exact information in an email.
I would be extremely grateful if you could help me. PLEASE, HELP ME!!! :)

This garden in New Zealand has taro from Japan and Cyprus, and probably from China too. The leaf stems always go to the middle of the leaf blade, not to the edge.
