Our study has started with a Beaten Bark Paper Project (2018-2019) supported by the Mishima Foundation, Japan. Principle investigators are Isamu Sakamoto (paper conservator) and Peter J. Matthews (ethnobotanist, National Museum of Ethnology, Osaka, Japan). The present site (barkculture.net) is hosted by the Research Cooperative.
