The 1st Workshop on Multi and hybrid clouds: technical challenges and business opportunities (MATCHBOX 2019, (Offsite URL Removed))
The 9th International Conference on Cloud Computing and Services Science (CLOSER 2019, (Offsite URL Removed))
May 2-4, 2019 - Heraklion, Crete
Submission of research papers due: February 28th, 2019
Notification of paper acceptance: March 15th, 2019
Submission of camera-ready due: April 25th, 2019
Workshop date: May 2nd, 2019
The objective of the workshop is to provide a forum to discuss problems,
solutions and perspectives of ongoing research activities on the hybrid cloud
deployment model with special focus on the multicloud approach. The multicloud
model is designed to provide cloud users with a wider range of cloud-based
services to select from according to the dynamics of business needs.
The advantages range from increase of flexibility to reduction of reliance on a single
cloud vendor, which in turn brings concrete benefits such as cost effectiveness,
service continuity, disaster mitigation, etc. The other side of the multi-cloud coin
are the need of thoughtful plans for data governance and compliance following
the recent GDPR directive, higher costs due to the management of the cloud
sprawl, increase of application delivery’s complexity, deployment and
management and more. This workshop encourages submissions that address
such issues and propose experimental solutions, case studies, deployed
systems and best practices. Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
Service provisioning and monitoring in a multicloud environment;
Orchestration and automation of management activities;
Quality of service and SLA in a multi-cloud environment;
Cross cloud service migration;
Orchestration of microservices.
Multicloud Resource Elasticity;
Multi-cloud Deployment and Orchestration;
Open-source Private Multicloud Solutions;
Algorithms and Systems for Automated elasticity;
Data governance across multi-cloud;
FAULT TOLERANCE AND COST:
Fault management in multi-cloud provisioning;
Cost mitigation strategies;
Exploitation of Cloud Spot Pricing.
Prospective authors are invited to submit papers in any of the topics listed above.
