Island Environments in a Changing World
I would like to recommend this newly published book for review by Island Studies Journal. I have a personal interest in this because the second author was my classmate in botany at the University of Auckland, many years ago.
Lawrence R. Walker and Peter Bellingham (2011) Island Environments in a Changing World. Cambridge University Press., 324 pp., paperback, with index and black and white photos.
The book is global in scope but dwells in detail on the natural and human history of an interesting range of island groups in temperate to tropical regions of the world. This will be an excellent textbook for courses in archaeology, ecology, environmental studies, geography, and island history.
