Biographical: Currently working as Professor Horticulture /Postharvest, and Project Leader of an ACIAR funded Pak-Australia (Mango) Project and EU funded Code of Practices (Mango and Kinnow) project. Previously completed nationally funded Controllee Atmosphere-technology project. Actively engaged in the industry focused R&D and capacity building activities, especially in tropical/suntropical crops (mango and citrus), for better market returns to stakeholders both in domestic and export markets. Our R&D and Extension approach is to develop need-based technologies by taking industry prioritized R&D projects for training of postgraduate students for their research thesis and develop extension guides and training modules. This provides R&D based solutions along with technically trained human resource, for the local industry, to help build capacity and improve its performance. Previously did PhD from Curtin University of Australia, on mango, by winning prestigious International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS). Presented R&D work at several conferences, including in Australia, Canada, China, Malaysia, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey and Pakistan etc. Recieved Best Teacher Award-2006 (university category) from Prime Minsiter of Pakistan
