Adding value to our network

Welcome to the sixth issue of Tips for Networking

Date: September 2nd, 2011.
Publisher: The Research Cooperative. Circulation: c. 3,500.
Previous issue: June 26th, 2011 (new features at the Research Cooperative).

Today's topic: Adding value to our network

Most members of the Research Cooperative have joined because they are interested in the communication of new research and science generally - from one-or-more points of view (as author, editor, translator, etc.).

Our network will most valuable to each member if each of us can:

(a) Try using the network to find help or offer help to others, in order to see how it really works.

(b) Explain and introduce the network to close colleagues, students, and others in our own existing personal networks, and

(c) Tell us (in a blog or other posting, for example) about any successful contacts made through the network, or any difficulties you have found in using the network. We need continuous positive and critical feedback about all aspects of the network.

In these three ways, all members of the Research Cooperative can help all other members, directly and indirectly.

Thanks for your attention,

Peter Matthews (Admin., Kyoto)
