Introducing the Pandanus Mat
Dear Ethnobotanists,
A few years ago, when I was more actively involved with Pandanus, I created a network called 'The Pandanus Mat' to support research and other other activities related to Pandanus and related genera in the family Pandanaceae.
An interesting range of people joined, mainly from Japan and Southeast Asia, but as usual with social networks, no-one contributed to the network.
Meanwhile, our hosting company, Ning.com, has changed its business model and now wishes all networks to pay higher fees to Ning. I cannot support a small and inactive network financially, but I am hoping that some members of the Pandanus Mat will rejoin here at the Research Cooperative, in our new topic group under the same name.
I also hope that existing members of the Research Cooperative, and members of our Ethnobotany group, will also join.
The Pandanus Mat is a welcome mat for all!

Thank you, Peter
