International Botanical Congress (IBC), Shenzhen

It is now the middle of the conference week. Our Economic Aroids Workshop went well, thanks to the efforts of Dr Chunlin Long, who brought a large part of our audience with him, and also gave a good talk reviewing research on Colocasia taxonomy in China. Dr E. Maribel Agoo gave a presentation on Araceae in the Philippines, and I concluded with an introduction to the Wild Taro Project (2017-2020). 

I have been attending mainly basic biology and ecology papers that are relevant to understanding plants generally. This congress is a great chance to learn about recent developments in topics that I studied many years ago.
