Backup - City index 28-10-12

NOTE: This index was made by first looking at all capital cities of the world, then all large cities with more than 3 M people, and then location maps for visitor numbers in Google Analytics. The last approach was most effective for identifying cities with at least some members. A typing error led to me losing all data for cities with zero and 1+ members, with links embedded in the city names, but these are the least interesting index entries for site visitors. I can rebuild these areas of the index gradually when updating the index in the future.

This index is based on a simple search across all member profiles, for each city, using our internal search system (last update: 27th Oct. 2012). The total number of members who have mentioned each city is shown at left (e.g. 50+).

Our index includes national capital cities (small and large), and some large cities that are not capitals. Our source list for cities can be found at the City Mayors website. A large proportion of members are located in cities with few other members (<10).
