Biographical: I have experience working in the health sector, as the director of a peak NGO, as a specialist director working in the areas of race and cultural diversity at Australia's national human rights institution, media and communications, in specialised research and teaching. I am a particularly strong researcher, writer, program manager, collaborator, strategic thinker and passionate advocate for issues associated with cultural diversity, cultural and human rights, and culture in sustainable development. I have worked in complex policy development and national project delivery and their evaluation. Specialties: Australia’s culturally, linguistically and religiously diverse communities (including settlement, physical and mental health, discrimination, exclusion and related matters); cross-cultural communication, community development and engagement; social inclusion policy; security issues (local and global) relating to alienated communities; the impact of culture in development; heritage, culture and human rights; culture and the media, and multicultural policy.
