About volunteering

Research writing and scientific publishing has long depended on graduate students and researchers helping each other read papers before they are published.

The culture of mutual support has also been extended by researchers to many publications and academic publishers. Most journals depend on volunteers to review submitted manuscripts, for free, or for a small honorarium.

Can you volunteer to help others in your research area, or geographic area? Have you been helped in this way by others -- directly, or indirectly through a journal?

Offers of volunteer help can be made with a message below, or in our forums (the best place!), or in any group in our network. See: member occupations, project coordination, and all groups.
