Biographical: I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Engineering and a M.Sc. in Polymer Engineering from Simon Bolivar University, Venezuela. In 2009, I completed my Ph.D. studies in “Nanotechnology of Materials”, at the Polytechnic of Turin in Italy. From August 2010 to September 2012, I worked as a Post-doctor fellow at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) in Taiwan, and associated with the research on biopolymers and nanocomposites for tissue engineering applications. From February 2013 to the present day, I have been collaborating as invited researcher in the Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the College of Medicine of the National Taiwan University (NTU), and associated with the research on DNA recombination, stem cells and cell cloning. My research interests are focused on the field of polymer science, nanocomposites, biomaterials, tissue engineering and cell biology. In addition, I have been an invited peer-reviewer of international journals in my field of expertise (from Elsevier, Asia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, MDPI/Switzerland, Wiley, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Canadian Research & Development Center of Sciences and Cultures), as well as a member of well-known academic associations, such as the American Chemical Society (ACS) and American Nano Society (ANS). In parallel, I have been author and co-author of several academic publications, including book chapters and papers in editorials with an important impact in the scientific community, such as the Royal Society of Chemistry, Elsevier, Springer and American Chemical Society. Moreover, I also have technical fluency in different languages, such as Spanish, English, German, Italian and Chinese.
