Biographical: Contact: melita.zajc@gmail.com. Languages: English, Slovene, Italian. Teacher and researcher at the Institute for media communication at the University in Maribor, Slovenia. Have PhD in Anthropology (Institute for the Study of Humanities, Ljubljana, 1999) and in Philosophy (University of Vienna, Austria). Edited two and wrote four books, dedicated to theories of media, published several articles in academic journals and presented papers at several international conferences, such as the Visible Evidence 2011 Conference at the NYU. Regular contributor to the European Documentary Film Magazine DOX. In 2006, started research on Video Film Cultures in Nigeria, a country which has the second largest film production in the world. At the moment (march 2012) completing a 2-year research project on the role of digital technologies within the development of Slovene Audiovisual Culture, from the perspective of the Europe 2020 Strategy.
