Have over 12 years experience as an animal nutritionist and a researcher in areas relating to mycotoxicology. Good experience in research design, statistical analysis, interpretation and reporting of scientific results through publications in peer reviewed international journals. Have a PhD degree in Biomedical Technology and MSc/B-Tech degrees in Animal Science. Have been working with many researchers from various disciplines and also supervised and co-supervised a number of B-Tech and MSc students. Passionate about research and is currently a part-time lecturer on Research Methodology and soon a postdoctoral student at the University of Johannesburg. RESEARCH AREA/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Assessment of mycotoxins in food/feeds using various analytical methods from extraction, cleanup and quantification by thin layer chromatography (TLC), VICAM fluorimetry and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Characterization of the mycobiota of food and feeds by conventional method and PCR technique. Evaluation of the toxicological effects of food contaminants through in vitro and in vivo studies. Also studies the control of food/feed contaminants to boost human health and animal performance and health.
