Onderzoek naar denken en religie bij andere culturen (Navajo Indianen USA, migarnten in Europa) en naar de filosofische gronden van sociaalwetenschappelijk onderzoek. Publiceerde een twintigtal boeken en tientallen artikels in verschillende talen.
