PROFILE

Segun is an agricultural and wood machinery engineer. senior research fellow with experiences in agricultural machinery development and wood products resources and utilization. He has over two decades of teaching experience. He taught introduction to agricultural engineering, post-harvest technology, workshop practice, technical drawing, machine safety, machinery design, management and evaluation, technical report writing among several other courses at the National and Higher National Diploma levels.

He also has also been involved in administrative management and programme development. He served as a member of a 15-man think-tank committee of his institution to proffer solutions to increase the revenue base of the institution in 2008 and also served as member of programme accreditation at different times, a member of the senior staff disciplinary committee for over ten years, and still serve in that capacity till date.

He has made significant contributions to research and development with acknowledged evidence of outstanding research works in global engineering development. His research activities include design and fabrication of agricultural and wood processing machinery, effects of mechanization indicators on implementation agricultural mechanization programmes in Enugu state, Abia state and Cross-river state. He has conducted and supervised several research projects at the National and Higher National Diploma levels and also conduct systematic review training workshops for several years. He is currently working on conversion of wood and agricultural wastes into solid fuel for domestic and small scale industrial heating at the postgraduate level.

 He is a corporate member of NIAE, NSE and registered member of COREN, the apex regulatory body for engineering in Nigeria. He is a fellow of the Nigeria Strategic Institute for Natural Resources and Human Development. A certified Publon personality, editor and reviewer to several journals, proceedings and research groups including; InTech-Open Access Publisher (UK), the International Commission of Agricultural Engineering (CIGR), Science publishing group (SciencePG) and Sciencedomain International (USA) among other high impact factor research groups.

He is the founder and coordinating editor of the Sustainable Development Group (SDG), an academic group driving sustainable development in agriculture, environment & entrepreneurship through sustainable management and practices with track records of scholarly publications.
