Work: I am an archaeologist with specialised research in archaeobotany including starch and phytolith research and Chinese archaeology. I have worked mainly in East Asia and I currently have projects or students working in China, Japan, Korea, Thailand and Laos. I have also worked in Australia, California, Cyprus, the Czech Republic and Papua New Guinea. Currently my projects relate to Paleolithic or Neolithic archaeology and subsistence, including residue studies and studies of plant remains.
