Biographical: I am a certified freelance English & French to Romanian translator based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. My specializations include translation and proofreading of documents pertaining to medicine, chemistry and pharmaceuticals. I worked for more than 5 years in a company specialised in selling of medical devices and laboratory instruments where I had the opportunity to improve my language and terminology searching skills. In 2007 I launched my freelance career. Regarding medical translations, I had so far multiple jobs with different turnaround times as the followings: - user manuals for physiotherapy units: electrotherapy units, combination therapy, ultrasound, laser, shortwave, microwave, cryotherapy units, massage-intensifying systems - instructions for use of endoprostheses and biomaterials: for abdominal aorta aneurysm, peripheral arterial disease, septal occluder, urinary catheters etc. - documents pertaining to pharmaceuticals documents and clinical trials: SPCs, Patient Booklets, Patient Instruction Brochures, Study Diaries, Flipcharts for Patients - instruction for use of intraocular lenses and phaco instruments - documents regarding biochemistry and haematology automated analysers I graduated Chemistry, so I think that I am also a good candidate for this field and the others related to this. Regarding chemistry and metrology, I translated many user manuals for laboratory instruments (pH and conductivity meters, turbidity meter, TOC, BOD, COD analysers, viscometers, humidity meters, wood moisture meters etc.), technical manuals for temperature measuring and controlling devices, and EU documents pertaining to European Community Regulation on Chemicals - REACH. As CAT tools I use: Trados (Studio 2009, 2007 Suite), Wordfast Classic and Transit PE Satellite.
