Biographical: Venu is presently associate professor [2009-10], in Hyderabad, India. Previously he worked in University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S.A for his Post-Doctoral Studies in 2008-09. His duties involve co-investigation of structural monitoring project of Pennsylvania transportation department, and writting proposals for new projects. Prior to this, He was research staff (project officer/fellow) in Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore from Sep-06 to Mar 08. (After submission of his PhD thesis in July 06 to NTU, he worked as Project Officer in NTU untill June-07. Later he was promoted to Research Fellow after PhD degree conferment in June 07. He continued in that position untill he moved to Pittsburgh). His duties involved co-investigation of real applications of smart materials for excavation monitoring of Mass Rapid Transit station in Singapore. He co-supervised many B.Eng/M.S/M.Eng students in NTU for their projects. He obtained his M.Eng degree in 2001 from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He obtained his B.Eng degree in 1998 from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India . He is a citizen of India and Permanent Resident of Singapore. He has work experience in both India and Singapore. His research interests are in Structural Health Monitoring, Non-destrutive evaluation, strutural optimization, dynamics, Real aplications of smart materials, Actuators and sensors
