Box 189 Dhahran 31261 Saudi Arabia SHORT CV Assistant Professor at the Earth Sciences Department of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. I obtained his Ph.D. in the area of water resources and environmental engineering from KFUPM in 2002 and obtained his MSc. degree in 1987. I am teaching a number of graduate courses in the Master Program in Environmental Sciences (ENVS) at the college of science including: Advanced Environmental Chemistry, Environmental Pollution, Environmental Impact Assessment and Analytical Geochemistry. I have supervised many Master theses in the area of environmental sciences and engineering. Before joining the Earth Science Department, I worked as a research engineer in the Center for Environment & Water in the Research Institute of KFUPM where I completed many fundamental and applied research projects in the area of environmental sciences and engineering. Selected projects My research areas of interest include assessment of pollution impacts of the environment with chemical contaminants. Also interested in the new technologies used for water and wastewater treatment such as advanced oxidation and nanotechnologies. I authored/co-authored over forty five (45) technical papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings and I am a member of a number of scientific local and international societies.
