Work: Nicole Hartley is a marketing researcher and lecturer in the UQ Business School at the University of Queensland. Her research and teaching expertise areas include brand bonding, services marketing, decision making behaviour, emotions and social/interpersonal psychology. Nicole is a PhD graduate of The University of Sydney. Her thesis investigated the impact of Emotional Intelligence on the performance outcomes of job satisfaction and job performance of individuals employed within customer service roles. Her work has been widely published and presented at international conferences and symposia, in particular, on issues relating to emotional branding, brand-customer relationships, customer-service provider relationships, classification of service dimensions, customer satisfaction, service quality and psychometric testing. Prior to her academic career, Nicole was employed as Marketing Manager/Director for various corporations within the tourism/hospitality, education, and communication industries both in Australia and in London.
