Biographical: Dr.R.SOWMEYAN graduated in Civil Engineering from Annamalai University in 1990, obtained his Masters degree in Environmental Engineering in 1993 from the same University and completed his Doctoral Research in Anna University Chennai during 2009. He has published papers in three International Journals, one in National Journal and presented more than thirty papers in National and International conferences. He got reviewer ship in seven of the International Journals. He has received a grant from ISTE-AICTE, DST, New Delhi and TNSCST, Tamilnadu for organizing a Seminar, Workshops, Short Term Training Programme, Induction Training Programme and R&D programme. He has been examiner and question setter for many reputed Universities in Tamilnadu and recruitment examinations conducted by Tamilnadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC). He has acted as Chairman and Chief in Anna University paper evaluations. He has been invited by many institutions as resource person for delivering guest- lectures in the seminars and training programmes organized by AICTE and ISTE. He has been appointed as Doctoral Committee Member by Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli. Presently he is working as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at Periyar Maniammai University, Vallam, Thanjavur, Tamilnadu.
