Biographical: Currently studying for a PhD at the University of Leeds, carrying out a project called "Participant Perspectives on Participation", a narrative research project based in a case study area, looking at different modes and domains of partcipation, and motivations for participation. Aiming to understand participation as a situated and contingent practice, and to uncover ways in which structural and social contexts impact upon modes/domains of participation. Previously, have been employed as research associate in project looking at disability and employment, at the University of Sheffield. Also have carried out interviews for the BBC programme "Child of our Time". Employed as research associate on temporary basis by UNESCO Centre, University of Ulster, carrying out research on Human Rights Education in postconflict societies. I also worked for two years as editorial assistant at the Theory, Culture & Society centre at Nottingham Trent University, overseeing the journals "Theory, Culture & Society" and "Body & Society". I have since run a community centre on a housing estate in Leeds, and also worked in school with children with behavioural and learning difficulties.
