Biographical: I work in English only. After starting my business in early 2002, I established a successful career as a marketing, communications and careers consultant, completing projects for a variety of organisations including RMIT (where I was acting Communications Manager, editing the weekly staff and bi-weekly student news bulletins, the University newspaper and the Annual Report), American Express (Corporate Writer), DEEWR, DIIRD, DP&C, Superpartners (Corporate Writer), CPA Australia, TWUSUPER (Communications Specialist), Boral, and Monash, Swinburne, Victoria and RMIT Universities editing and proofreading peer-reviewed journal articles and PhD theses. As a result, I specialise in writing, editing and proofreading all types of materials and publications for business, government, and education and training organisations. Previously, I was Communications Manager at the Department of Primary Industries, managing several major projects and contributing to the redesign of the Department’s website. I was Channel Development Manager at TXU from Dec 1999 to Feb 2002, where I developed, managed and implemented the communications strategy and plan for the conversion of Colac from TLPG to Natural Gas, developed a home services franchise business and managed the initial discussions with the minor football league to secure TXU’s sponsorship. I was Manager, Disability Services at Telstra from 1993 to late 1999 where I developed and implemented Telstra’s Disability Services strategy in response to the Disability Discrimination Act (1993) and the deregulating telecommunications industry. This included developing an extensive internal and external communications program, including formal and informal stakeholder engagement with government, regulators (including the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission) and disability consumer representatives. I hold a Master of Business (Marketing); a Graduate Certificate in Careers Education & Development; a Bachelor of Business (Marketing/Economics); an undergraduate psychology major; and a Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training. I am a member of Editors Victoria, Writers Victoria, Women in Super and the Career Development Association of Australia. I would like to join this network to keep abreast of what is happening in the research world and to take advantage of any work opportunities that may present.
