I kishan supreet, PhD candidate from university of Utah. I have been working on structural health monitoring using dictionary learning and other signal processing concepts. It would be very beneficial for me if you could guide me this summer and take me as an intern. I want to learn more about composites and formulate better signal processing algorithms for defect classification and damage localization.
I have authored 2 conference papers and working on a journal paper right now. My work is to predict the wave propagations in complex structures using dictionary learning and sparse wave analysis methods. We could combine numerical simulations with a small number of local experimental measurements to make accurate, global predictions about experimental wave behavior. Methods to detect or to assess the damage compares the response signals with the expected behaviour. Hence, ability to accurately predict experimental guided wave behaviour is paramount.
