I have a PhD in Chemistry (Physical Chemistry) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais-UFMG (2014), Master in Materials Science from Nuclear Technology Development Center-CDTN (2009) and Bachelor in Chemistry (2005) from university of Itaúna. I have experience in Physical Chemistry, with emphasis in the preparation and characterization of polymer composites containing carbon nanotubes and graphene functionalized with amine groups. I was a research fellow at CNEN (Nuclear Energy National Commission) in the National Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies R&D Program created by the federal government via the post-graduate program MCT/CNPq, working on the development of composite materials having thermal and electrical conductivity properties optimized for use in the aerospace industry. Recently, I was a research fellow (DTI-Technological and Industrial Development) in a scientific-technological research project between UFMG/CTNanotubes and Cenpes/Petrobras where I worked on developing new catalysts and on a construction project assembling a CVD furnace for production of carbon nanotubes. I have experience in various material characterization techniques, such as thermal analysis (TGA, DSC), Raman and infrared (FTIR) spectroscopies, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and scanning probe (AFM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis (EDS), electrical resistivity measurement by four point probe method, and mechanical tests (tensile, compression and impact). Currently, I am researcher DTI-A (Technological and Industrial Development) in the laboratory of nanostructured materials for bioapplications at CDTN coordinated by Professor Edésia Martins Barros Sousa, where the synthesis of boron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs) doped with rare-earths is being investigated.
