Hello Balew, and welcome to the Research Cooperative. Thanks for joining.

Your interests sound quite similar to my own -- I'm particularly interested in literature, music and politics, and also have an interest in Ethiopia which started with hearing some excellent Ethiopian music. I've never had the opportunity to visit, though. I have a question: are you familiar with the Ryszard Kapuszcinski book The Emperor, about the fall of Haile Selassie? It seemed a striking book when I read it, but I don't know how accurate it is from an Ethiopian perspective.

The goal of the Research Cooperative is to help researchers connect with other researchers and professionals for mutual benefit. In particular, there are many scientists, particularly in developing countries, who struggle to get worthwhile research published because they don't have the institutional support they need to get their work up to publishable standard in English. We certainly want to encourage whatever other sort of help members can give each other, though.

Please don't hesitate to ask for or offer help of other members, or of myself, and if you have any suggestions about how the site could be made more useful or dynamic, we'd like to hear them.

Yours,

Sam (admin)
