University ranking sites may be of interest to visitors to this page. Ranking sites all use different methods and have different aims, so it is good to explore them all. The Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence showcases the work of the International Ranking Expert Group (IREG), which is attempting to monitor and support the integrity and fairness of ranking systems.

Personally, I would like to see a specialised ranking system that measures practical support for writing and publishing, for research and teaching, relative to the size and wealth of each university. Then we could see which universities are really supporting the research and communication efforts of their staff and students.
