Membership numbers

Our overall membership is increasing and becoming more diverse every day. As more people and organisations start using the forums and profile pages, the value of our self-building database (i.e. social network) will become apparent.

Today: all current members

Members can simply join, look, and occasionally return to see what is happening. Our forums will be here when you need them. There is no obligation for any member to be active at this site.

Of course, we do appreciate any help that members can offer to find new members, and to start or manage new special-interest groups for journals and communication projects.

Cumulative totals of invitations sent, and members registered:

20th January 2008: 0 invitations, 1 member (site under construction)

The site became functional in mid-May 2008; many members have joined after learning about the site independently, without receiving an invitation, and most invitations have not been taken up by those invited (this is to be expected, despite the fact that we are selective about who receives invitations).

10th June: 75 invitations, 21 members

20th June: 84 invitations, 53 members

6th August: 96 invitations, 86 members

22nd September: 100 invitations, 100 members

8th November: 900 invitations, 200 members

26th January 2009: 2,049 invitations, 401 members

25th April 2009: 2,471 invitations, 692 members

27th November 2009: 3,501 invitations, 1041 members
