Asian names

Hello,

I'm new to this coop and would like to see if someone can offer helpregarding Asian names. Im currently researching on the topic of CJK (Chinese Japanese and Korean) names for an Indexing Journal and would like to hear from people who are either CJK authors or people with experiences in handling these names.

Im particularly interested in finding out peoples experiences regarding CJK names such as:

- Confusion of which part comes first : first name or family name when displayed in English

- Difficulty determining which part is first and which part is last name

- Any other issues associated with these names

I've heard that some online publishers (particularly those in the science field) are encouraging authors to list their English names alongside their original colloquial scripts. I would love to find out more.
