She holds B.Sc. (Chemistry) from Lucknow University, Uttar Pradesh, India, and M.Sc. (Organic Chemistry) from J.M.I. Dr. Zafar received her Ph.D (Chemistry) from J.M.I. in 2006, under the supervision of Prof. Sharif Ahmad, J.M.I., and co-supervision of Prof. S. M. Ashraf (retired), J.M.I. She is the recipient of scholarships, Senior Research Fellowship (SRF, 2006-2007) and Research Associate ship (RA, 2007-2010) and Senior Research Associate (SRA/Pool officership, 2010-2013) of C.S.I.R., India. She has attained numbers of conferences nationally and internationally in related areas. She has published eighteen papers in refereed journals. She is associate editor of Journal of Medicinal Plants Research and reviewer’s of international refereed journals. Her main research interests are in the development of green polymeric materials for protective (anticorrosive and antimicrobial) and other applications.
