Biographical: Dr Quazi Zaman began his teaching and research journey in 1992. He held a teaching and research position as Researcher and Post-Doctoral Fellow in Hong Kong University and visiting Post-doctoral Fellow in Oxford Brookes University during 1998-2002. He was Research Assistant for OMA Asia and GSD Harvard University (Rem Koolhaas Masters Studio for Pearl River Delta China Project) in 1996 and was Associate Professor in BRAC University (Bangladesh) during 2002-2007. Dr Zaman was a US Fulbright Teaching and Research Fellow at the College of Art, Architecture and Planning in Cornell University, Ithaca, New York during 2007-2008. All his research and teaching was centred around the subject of urban design and architectural manifestation in the urban context, ranging from New Urbanism, Regionalism and Regeneration, Healthy City by Urban Design, Vertical Urbanism, Emerging New versus traditional Urbanism in Asia and Mega-city – new mode of production of space and theorizing urban congestions project. In addition, he has also served in the World Bank's 'Doing Business' research project during 2002-2008 and was consultant for the World Bank assisted entrepreneur International Finance and Facilities Centre in Bangladesh during 2004-2008 generating design and development guidelines for Private Public Partnership Projects (PPP) for International Trade Centre. Dr Zaman served as an External Examiner for Masters Dissertation for the School of Architecture at Auckland University, New Zealand during 2002-2005. Besides his teaching career, he has extensive architectural and urban design consultancy experience in Hong Kong and Bangladesh, notably New Town prototyping and large scale residential projects deriving from urban analysis. He also possesses expertise in high-skilled hand sketches in presenting urban design and architectural ideas.
