    PRACTICAL SUPPORT (past and present)

Early practical support was provided by Editage (see editage.com, now a "service brand" of the company Cactus Communications), after the Editage founder joined a conference organised by Dr Peter Matthews in Osaka. Editage kindly designed and printed business cards and information brochures for the Research Cooperative, in English and Japanese.

Practical support for many years was provided by a commercial direct mail company (Medlist, UK) that specialises in promotion to academic, medical and scientific audiences. In return for free promotion they could gauge whether addresses were still active or not. Many recipients were responded positively, and very few rejected the mail by unsubscribing.

Nevertheless, this approach did sometimes lead to automatic internet monitoring systems regarding our site ISP as a source of spam, and the method was discontinued in ca. 2018.

    FINANCIAL SUPPORT (past and present)

2001-present: network founder has covered almost all running costs since inception.

2001- ca 2011: several members kindly made small donations.

    CONCEPT SUPPORT (past and present)

Colleagues, Research Co-op members, friends and family have all patiently listened to my attempts to explain the Research Cooperative and have given useful feedback on many problems with various versions of the website.
