Biographical: Dr. Çağatay Barut Associate Professor of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine, Bülent Ecevit University, Zonguldak, Turkey Çağatay Barut, MD, PhD was born in Ardahan in 1971. He was graduated from Ankara Atatürk Anatolian High School in 1988 and from Gazi University School of Medicine in 1995. He started his PhD in Gazi University, Health Sciences Instute, Department of Anatomy in 1997 and held his PhD degree in April 2001 with the thesis entitled “Evaluation of muscle activities during locking and unlocking movements”. He was appointed as an assistant professor of anatomy at Zonguldak Karaelmas University School of Medicine in 2001 and became an associate professor in 2009. He has been working in the same department as an associate professor and the head of the department. He has 27 international publications, 45 international presentations in international congresses and 49 citations in indexed international scientific journals. He had international experience in Aruba, All Saints University of Medicine in 2007 as a visiting professor. His research interests are radiological anatomy, clinical anatomy, laterality, morphometric analysis, geometric morphometry, and anthropometry. He is an associate editor of ANATOMY (International Journal of Experimental and Clinical Anatomy). He is also in the editorial boards of Journal of Morphological Sciences. Besides his academic career, he is interested in photography, medical illustration, playing guitar and blues. Dr. Barut is married with Dr. Banu Özen Barut.
