Former subscription method - free or by donation (old record from 2011)

An old record from the Archives (updated 28th Jan 2018).

An automated membership-subscription system based on voluntary donations was previously mentioned in the Research Cooperative Review (Issue 14, 8th September 2011), and was installed on 26th October, 2011.

****

At the time of joining (Sign up), all new members of the Research Cooperative are automatically invited to make a donation, which can be $0.00 if you wish to enjoy free membership (After the 26th January, 2012, existing members will also be asked to donate, when they visit the site for the first time after that date).

You will be invited to donate again, the next time you sign in to our network after the end of your 12-month subscription period. Under our Terms of Service, you will always be able to continue membership with a free subscription. If you have any questions about this, please contact the Chief Administrator.

The following message has been seen by all new members when they joined, from the 26th Oct. 2011 onwards.

"The Research Cooperative invites your donation, for a 12-month subscription, to help cover operating and development costs. Please help us if you can. We understand that many members will be unable to (a) help financially, or (b) use international payment services. Free membership can be requested by choosing an amount of $0.00, in the dropdown menu below.

A minimum donation of $2.95 per year is suggested by default, in the dropdown menu, and is a minimum amount based on our current running costs, and a conservative estimate of the likely number of donations.

All donations will be used for operation and development of the network, for the benefit of all members.
