As creator of the Research Cooperative, I would like very much to hear from anyone who can offer time and skills as a " lead community manager " for our network.

The lead community manager can do two things:

1. Develop and manage your own community, for people doing work related to your own interests.

2. Find and support other community managers, group administrators, and group moderators in our network (we currently have very few).

The manager needs good social skills, excellent English writing ability, and a genuine interest in research and scientific communication.

This position is different from that of a 'group administrator' or 'forum moderator'. I am looking for someone with the ability and confidence to communicate with many different kinds of people in a polite, informative, encouraging, and constructive manner.

Our network does not have income to offer a wage or salary, but for a suitable person, I can personally offer a small honorarium (or book vouchers, if that is of more interest).

Estimated time required (trial period): minimum 2 hours per week for 4 weeks, continuous (total of 8 hours, including one hour for training).

Starting date: open.

Enquiries: please send me a private note with a brief cv and any ideas or questions you may have about the proposed position. Applicants should already be members of the Research Cooperative, and are expected to understand the academic aims of this network.

If you want to study further what this role might mean, please see:

http://thecommunitymanager.com/

Selection process: I will reply to all enquiries. If more then one good candidate appears, I will try to offer trial periods to more than one candidate, before negotiating a longer term arrangement.

Withdrawal process: Candidates can withdraw their candidacy at any time, and selected candidates can withdraw even after starting a trial.

Payments and payment methods: honorarium to be negotiated. Candidates are welcome to suggest what they think is a reasonable honorarium (for what they are willing and able to do).
