Thank you Peter that sounds like it would be a great start - would the group be education generally or would there be subgroups for particular areas of study, for example adult education, technology in education, education and professional development etc. It may be useful to consider the focus on the 98 members, on the otherhand the general group can create some interesting cross discipline discussions.

Regards,

Donna

Dear Donna,

As a starting point, I have just now searched the work description field of our member profiles with the keywords education (found 98 profiles) and educational (found 22 profiles). You can try other variations (e.g. "education research") with Ning profile search under the Search tab above.

With this many members having some interest in education, we could try setting up an education focus group to look at issues related to communication of education research and methods.

I might not be able to do this immediately, but if you are interested in joining or helping to start such a group, please let me know.

Best regards, Peter

For a number of years I have been involved in a small project regarding delivery of professional learning to teachers in remote and very remote locations in the Northern Territory of Australia. We are currenty in the process of developing the initial project further, and personally I would like to develop this into a Phd. My lit review is demonstrating to me that delivering PD to teachers via interactive technology is an issue world wide, especially with consideration to remote teaching locations.

As I am in the early stages I would really appreciate any advice, relevant articles and connections to experts in relation to this context.

Thank you.
