2,945 visits via 48 cities - is this possible in Australia?

From 12th Dec. 2009 to 12th Dec. 2010, the Research Cooperative received 2,945 visits via 48 cities (Google Analytics). I am surprised that so many cities can be found in Australia, since so much the population is found in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, and Brisbane. Are Gawler and Caboolture cities, as suggested by Google?

Sydney (a metropolis with multiple universities) gave us just over 1,000 visits. Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane all gave around 400 visits, and Perth about 200, followed by Canberra with about 150.

What did all those visitors do? Not much of anything, but our unknown lone visitor from Albury looked at 11 pages, and visitors from Morwell looked at 7 pages each per visit, on average. Our visitors from the main cities generally looked at 3-4 pages per visit, and used an average of 1-2 minutes, which is OK...

Of course we would like to see more active communication between members within Australia and beyond. Our main goal is to make sure that members can find each other when they need to or want to.

Setting up this group for the Research Co-op Australia may help researchers in Perth meet and talk more often, when they need to discuss a research paper with someone in person (for example). The people in Albury, Morewell, Gawler and Caboolture might need to depend on the internet much more, to meet other people to work with. Our network can help them too.

Dear Peter,

The Town of Gawler is a community of over 18000 people located 40 km north of Adelaide and Caboolture is a suburb approximately 50 kilometres (31 mi) north of Brisbane.

I am sure you already looked this up, but it is a good excuse to thank you for the invitation and your tireless input.

Regards,
