Your comments and observations based on personal experiences of research and research communication in Australia are welcome here.

I would also like us to look for topics related to the range, quality, production, and distribution of academic journals and other research literature in Australia.

What kinds of volunteer, professional and public support exist for Australian based publications?

What is the importance or otherwise of publishing in international journals rather than Australian-managed journals.

Reviews and historical notes concerning Australian journals and publishers are also of interest. For example, have any student groups or organisations produced research literature, and what kinds of student publications are produced in Australia?

It would help greatly if a moderator/writer can be found to start looking at a broad range of topics, in order to (a) post occasional brief reports to our group, and (b) encourage others to contribute with postings and comments.
