A search in the international Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) indicates that at least 105 such journals are published in Australia.

Here are the numbers found using city names as the search term.

Sydney - 11

Brisbane - 0

Darwin - 0

Hobart - 0

Wollongong - 1

Melbourne - 2

Adelaide - 2

Perth - 0

Canberra - 0

Obviously, the other 90 journals are not being published in all the small towns of Australia. The journal records at DOAJ do not require city information to be given, which is a pity, as this can be useful information for potential contributors and editors.
