The New Zealand Ecological Society is celebrating its 60 years. The 2011 New Zealand Ecological Society conference will be in Rotorua from August 28 to September 1. The theme for the conference will be Ecology in the heartland: celebrating 60 years of the New Zealand Ecological Society. 2011 is a significant year for the society, being its 60th year as well as its 60th annual conference, and this will be celebrated at the 2011 conference.
Engaging Society in Conservation. The 25th International Congress for Conservation Biology (ICCB 2011) will be held on 28 November - 2 December 2011 in Christchurch, New Zealand. The theme for the meeting will be: Engaging Society in Conservation. Biodiversity around the world continues to decline at an ever-increasing pace, yet much of society carries on business as usual. How can conservation biologists engage with society to achieve positive outcomes for conservation without compromising our scientific rigour or integrity?
Calls for symposium are open for both of these conferences
