Languages used in online publications

The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) reports 177 open access journals when the search-term is "Romania".

What languages do these journals use? Many use more than one language. Here is my quick tally by hand (each number = no. journals using the given language):

English 170

Romanian 44

French 44

German 12

Italian 7

Spanish 7

Portugese 4

Russian 3

Catalan 1

Hungarian 1

I am surprised that only about 1/3 of the journals use Romanian; and I suppose French is a language that is relatively easy for Romanian speakers to learn.

Is English so dominant among print-only academic journals published in Romania?
