A US patent has been granted to Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana, India for Superagglutination test developed by Dr. Hari Mohan Saxena, a Professor of Immunology at GADVASU. The new test provides innovative solutions for the problems of false positive and false negative results frequently encountered with the traditional slide / plate agglutination tests like the Rose Bengal Plate Test for Brucellosis. The new test comprises simple add on steps and involves easily available, cheap reagents which can be used with the commercially available kits and assays in labs for serodiagnosis of infectious diseases. The point of care test is applicable to a large number of infectious diseases of humans and animals where agglutination test can be conducted like Brucellosis, Salmonellosis, HIV41_blogs.png?width=750 etc. The details of the innovative method have been published in the International Journal of Tropical Disease & Health 2013, 3(3): 199-209 and Journal of Microbiological Methods 2014, 97: 25-28.
