Assoc Prof Greg Adamson works at the intersection of industry, academia and volunteering. His industry experience includes 25 years in cyber security and 5 years engagement with blockchain as a financial services risk manager. He is the Cyber Security Industry Fellow at the University of Melbourne. In 2018 he is the IEEE Board of Directors "Ethics Champion", and leads IEEE's Digital Inclusion through Trust and Agency program. IEEE is a global professional organization with more than 400,000 members.

His primary interest is in overcoming the barriers to adoption of socially beneficial technology. His particular concern is societal preparedness for the end of work as we currently know it, which he expects by 2035. He initiated the IEEE conference series Norbert Wiener in the 21st Century.
