Who is paying for this network?

  • Main sponsor

Since 2001, the main financial sponsor for the Research Cooperative has been Dr PJ Matthews, of Kyoto, Japan, and Auckland, New Zealand.

Monthly costs for hosting, system, and trouble-shooting are currently $US 49.00 (an annual cost of about $US 600). This is tolerated because many beautiful things in the world are free, like this ikebana display at a train station in Osaka:

An example invoice/receipt is attached in the next section.

    (Updated 19th Sept. 2021)

  • Receipt for monthly payment of network hosting expenses (December 2018)

This receipt of a monthly payment for online hosting and related services is provided as an example, for reference purposes only, and remains copyright of the Research Cooperative and Tall Dude Networks (2018).

The document may be downloaded for personal study, and can be cited as an information source, with attribution, but should not be copied or displayed by other parties without permission.

    Thanks for looking.

  • Member donations, and other sponsors

Any small or large donation is welcome from members, at any time!

Requests for paid advertising space will also be considered, by members or non-members, if the content is relevant for our members.

Donations cannot be made tax-deductible as we are not a formally registered NPO in any jurisdiction. NPO registration and reporting costs are prohibitive as we have zero income from operation of the network.

In the future, we hope that members, sponsors and advertisers will together be able to cover costs for NPO registration, development, maintenance, and promotion of the network.

To make more significant progress than is possible at present, we need a budget of around NZ$10,000/year, or the equivalent in volunteer time.

Alas, we are far from achieving this, as of September, 2021 (see previous records of advertising revenue here )

In the future, members may be able to build a shopfront and use our network as a base for business, in return for a small subscription fee. Please let me know if this idea is of interest to you.

Thanks, Peter Matthews (Chief Admin, researchcooperative at gmail dot com)
