I gained my over 10 years of experience in scientific research, technical writing and editing from my academic endeavors, profession as biologist and consultancy projects. I have already published articles in scientific journals, and have written and edited numerous technical reports, research and project proposals, academic research papers and management plans. I can also write popular science articles with less technical tone but in-depth content.
After I graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of the Philippines Mindanao, I started my career in conservation with the Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF) as Conservation Education Officer. With the desire to learn more and be able to do more, I studied Master of Science in Biology at the University of the Philippines Diliman, and spent a year teaching life sciences at Centro Escolar University in the Philippines. Then I realized that my niche was indeed conservation so joined the PEF again, and later stepped up from Junior Biologist to Senior Biologist / Project Coordinator. After several years with the PEF, it was a tough decision for me to leave and immigrate with my husband to Canada. My career then transitioned into consultancy and contractual services involving research, planning, writing and editing.
