Auckland University Press
An important publisher for the academic world of New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. See the wesbite here:

But of course, the University Press represents just a small part of the publishing activity of the University. The staff and students publish widely within New Zealand and internationally.
I don't know if there is any attempt to balance the in-house with the out-house, so to speak.
As far as I am concerned, if a published work has been edited, reaches a target audience, and then more, then the author should and can be satisfied. The impact will be determined by the people who actually read the work think about it, and whether or not it becomes an influence on future work, and life.
