Work: Work areas: Analytical and bioanalytical chemistry Food science and technology Research Interests: Analysis of biochemical, food and environmental samples for public health using capillary electrophoresis (CE), and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS). Antimicrobial development against Escherichia coli (E. coli) in waters. Antimicrobial food packaging (engineered food packaging) development. New analytical methods development for: (a) functionalization of superparamagnetic nanoparticles for removal of E. coli in environmental waters; (b) molecularly imprinted polymers for the selective determination of bacteria and hazardous compounds in water treatment by solid-phase extraction. Development of biochemically-active polymer-coated superparamagnetic nanoparticles for site-selective cancer drug delivery.
