Dear Dr Matthew,
You might get some ideas about future work possibilities by looking around the website of the International Society of Ethnobiology (ISE). Members of that Society might also be able to give you advice.
I wonder if there is a need for some kind of applied ethnobotany looking at how wheat farmers deal with the threat of rust disease, and the extent to which they are able to prepare for the possibility of crop loss, or do anything if they find it in their fields. That would be a currently relevant topic - but the general aim of looking at how farmers see and respnd to plant diseases could be a very open and very useful area of research. Maybe this is already what you are thinkng about!
Best wishes, Peter (Admin.)
Dear Adebola,
Is ethnobotany well supported in your department or university? Does the university have a publications office? What journals are published by the university?
